1^st GENERATION (2002-2007)

The first-generation Nissan Murano debuted on the market with a 3.5L V6 engine. It came standard with four-wheel drive; however, buyers could choose to opt for all-wheel drive. Backed by a continuously variable transmission and independent suspension, the V6 was able to produce excellent EPA ratings. Additionally, the SUV was outfitted with airbags, ABS, traction control and a steel reinforced cabin. In 2006, the model also added LED taillamps and turn signals, an optional rearview camera and a revised front end.

2^nd GENERATION (2009-2014)

The second-generation Nissan Murano was introduced in 2008 for the 2009 model year. The newly updated model featured a revised front fascia, a redesigned interior and several new features. A power liftgate, power fold-up rear seats, touchscreen navigation and rain-sensing wipers were available options. It also sported an updated 3.5L V6 engine and CVT with Adaptive Shift Control. Electronic stability control, front/side airbags and brake assist were included as standard features. In 2011, the Murano was refreshed, gaining new LED headlamps and taillights, 18-inch wheels and a new front/rear fascia. In addition to the standard Murano, a Murano CrossCabriolet convertible model was introduced on the market 2011 and was eventually discontinued in 2014.

3^rd GENERATION (2015-PRESENT)

All-new for the 2015 model year, the third-generation Nissan Murano is based on the brand’s Resonance Concept. The revised model features a “floating roof” design, a “V-motion” nose and a fresh infotainment system. It also comes available with a slew of new safety features, including hill-start assist, a standard rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and an around-view monitor.
