NS3 Cvt Fluid - Quart - Nissan (999MP-CSHNS3)
999MP-CSHNS3 Nissan

CVT Fluid NS-3 - 1 QT
- Developed exclusively for passenger cars equipped with Jatco steel belt type CVT
- Excellent thermal and oxidative stability
- Excellent low temperature fluidity
What NS-3 Is For
NS-3 is the fluid Nissan specifies for most continuously variable transmissions from roughly 2013 onward, including the Altima, Rogue, Murano, Maxima, Sentra and Versa depending on year and transmission. It replaces part numbers 999MP-CV0NS3 and 999MP-NS300P, so if your records list either of those, this quart is the current equivalent.
Why the Fluid Grade Matters in a CVT
A CVT drives through a steel belt running against variable pulleys, and the fluid is what lets that contact transmit torque without slipping. Its friction properties are engineered for a specific transmission family, which is why NS-3 and the earlier NS-2 are not interchangeable and why generic universal CVT fluid is a poor trade on a transmission this expensive to replace. Filling an NS-3 transmission with the wrong grade shows up as shudder at light throttle, delayed engagement and heat.
How Much You Need
A drain and fill on an Altima-sized CVT is built around 6 quarts, which is why the model service kits bundle six of these. A complete fluid exchange takes more. If you are doing the filter at the same time, the kit for your year also includes the CVT filter, pan gasket, filter housing seal and drain plug gasket, matched to the transmission.
Before You Order
Confirm your transmission takes NS-3 and not NS-2. Model year alone is not always enough because overlap years exist, so enter your VIN at checkout and the parts team verifies it against the Nissan catalog before the order ships.
